Acronym : PPL-3-EGCA-EL Classes will provide an account of major topics in the grammar of English from a cognitive linguistics perspective. Precise topics may vary from year to year, but are likely to be drawn from the following list: Entry Requirements? Pre-requisites : English Language 2 or Linguistics 2A + 2B or Linguistics 2A + 2L This course has a named level 11 version, if you are a Postgraduate Student you must take the PG version. By the end of the course, students should have acquired the following:
(a) a greater understanding of how Modern English grammar works (b) preparation for more advanced work involving syntactic theories (c) basic grounding in aspects of Cognitive Linguistics, particularly Cognitive Grammar and Construction Grammar Assessment Information
The course will be assessed as follows:
