Innovation and Enterprise for Scientists and Engineers 1 (U01858)

The aim of this course is to produce students who understand the crucial importance of entrepreneurship in the modern economy, and comprehend the different components and aspects of the entrepreneurial process through theoretical and practical means.

The overall final mark will consist of 50% coursework and 50% final exam.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Knowledge and understanding of:
1. The role and importance of entrepreneurship in the modern economy.
2. The entrepreneurial process with it's various components and aspects.

Intellectual:
1. Ability to critically evaluate entrepreneurial ventures from the point of view of entrepreneurs, investors and government.

Practical:
1. Ability to go through an entrepreneurial process that culminates in the production of a business plan.
