Acronym : SPS-P-P03209 Students who have already undertaken Research and Evaluation: Theoretical Approaches will have an opportunity to evaluate a practice intervention or new practice initiative in which they (or their agency) are involved. Delivery Period : Not being delivered ? Additional Class Information : The course will be delivered over 2 taught days and 2 days of online study facilitated by a tutor. Classroom sessions include presentation, discussion & practical exercises. Independent study & application to the workplace setting is also required. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The aim of this course is to turn theory into practice: to encourage the acquisition of research and evaluation skills and understanding for application in social work in different settings.
On completion of the course students should be able to: Plan and design a small scale evaluation Examine relevant ethical issues Conduct the evaluation Write up the project Evaluate the usefulness of the evaluation Assessment Information
SStudents will be required to write a research report based on their evaluation, in no more than 2,000 words.
