Economic Issues in Public Policy (P03169)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : SPS-P-P03169 This is a course on economic issues in public policy. There are four sections. Section 1 shows the approach in terms of conceptual and measurement issues (indicators for economic growth and development; resources for public intervention; efficiency and equity and markets; outcome measurement and evaluation in public services). Section 2, on governments and markets, looks at motivation in public services and the attempt to introduce markets in public services. In Section 3 we explore the impact of taxes and benefits like unemployment benefits on labour markets.
