Acronym : LLC-P-P03054 This foundational course for students enrolled on the MSc in ‘Material Cultures and the History of the Book’ will introduce students to a range of issues surrounding the conservation, management, and display of special collections, with particular emphasis on manuscript and printed materials. Entry Requirements? This course is not available to visting students. ? Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On completing the course, students will have acquired an understanding of:
• a variety of collections and their forms • a range major issues in the management of collections • the cataloguing, preservation, digitisation, promotion and display of special collections Assessment Information
Students will submit one 4,000 word essay at the end of semester 2 on the date specified in the handbook.
