This course allows the student to explore in depth any aspect of the research/evidence basis of theory covered in Professional and Personal Development.

? Pre-requisites : Pass in Professional and Personal Development And A Pass in Research Methods in Nursing and Health Care A or Research Methods in Nursing and Health Care B

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

- Demonstrate the ability to set appropriate learning objectives in a creative manner
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate and justify their formulation of a research project
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of research techniques applicable to their chosen area
- Plan and execute project of research, investigation or development
- Demonstrate originality or creativity in the application of knowledge, understanding and practices
- Demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate approaches to research and evaluation
- Critical awareness of current issues in the application of research in a particular setting
- Demonstrate the ability to critically appraise the evidence for practice.

Assessment Information

The student will be required to submit a learning contract and evidence that the contract has been fulfilled. These could be contained in a report of 4,000-5,000 words.

Equivalent alternative forms of assessment will be accepted.

Assessments will be marked according to School/College policy and made available for moderation by the External Examiner.
