Dissertation (MSc Advancing Nursing Practice)(Extended) (P02965)

The MSc in Advancing Nursing Practice Dissertation (extended) can take the form of an emperical piece of nursing research or a proposal for a research project. It should consist of an extended review of relevant literature and demonstrate extensive theoretical grounding.

Entry Requirements

? This course is not available to visting students.

? Pre-requisites : Permission to 'Proceed to Dissertation' by Progress Board on basis of accumulation of 120 credits in this programme and satisfactory performance in Professional and Personal Development and Research Methods in Nursing and Health Care courses.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

The objectives of the dissertation are to give the student an opportunity to undertake extensive study in a particular topic and to formulate a reasoned research approach on the basis of a critical appraisal of existing theory and knowledge.

Assessment Information

The dissertation should be 20,000 - 25,000 words in length.
