Operational Research Modelling in Energy (P02864)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : MAT-P-ORME With the generation and distribution of energy resources becoming evermore complex, there is an ever growing need for the application of OR techniques in this sector of industry. Xpress-MP is a world-leading suite of mathematical modelling and optimization tools. In this course, students will first be taught the foundations of mathematical programming and the Xpress-MP modelling language. This will be done via a sequence of case studies in optimal decision-making. In the second half of the course, applications of OR in the energy industry will be studied, with appropriate models being developed using Xpress. Entry RequirementsSubject AreasHome subject areaDelivery Information? Normal year taken : Postgraduate ? Delivery Period : Semester 2 (Blocks 3-4) ?
