Knowledge Management (P02847)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : MED-P-P02847 The aim of this course is to introduce and evaluate effective knowledge and information management and its implications for the organisational and governance issues within health and social care systems and organisations Entry Requirements? This course is not available to visting students. ? Pre-requisites : None other than programme entry requirements ? Co-requisites : This is an optional course for all candidates at Stage 2 of the Cert/Dip/MSc in Health Information Governance programme. ? Special Arrangements for Entry : The course will be delivered using RCSEd’s VLE with appropriate links to the University’s systems. Students will be expected to use a range of flexible learning methods including participation in discussion forums, online seminars and wikis and accessing resources in a range of formats e.g. pdf files, video clips, and audio files. In addition to the course materials and resources provided, candidates will be expected to use internet and published resources during self directed study and research. a. Demonstrate the complex interrelationship of information requirements in a healthcare organisation
b. Critically evaluate governance issues in relation to collecting a wide range of information relevant to healthcare delivery c. Contrast the range of systems used to organise and make effective use of corporate knowledge d. Contribute to planning and deployment of knowledge management systems e. Provide professional advice on corporate and health related governance issues Assessment Information
Course assessments will relate to the learning outcomes. The summative work will be approximately 3000 words in total and be approved by the Programme Committee, on the
recommendation of the Course Convenor.
