Acronym : PPL-P-Political This course will discuss a number of issues in political philosophy, among which may be any of the following. How might the benefits and burdens of social cooperation be justly distributed among the members of society? Is distributive justice simply a matter people?s shares of resources, or must we consider also the levels of wellbeing that people are able to achieve with their resources? Which systems of property ownership, if any, can be justified? And, in particular, ought we to allow private ownership of worldly resources, or of the ?means of production?? What should be regarded as the ?basic units? of justice, individual people or something larger such as communities or cultures?
