An independent piece of research and analysis of up to 15,000 words on an approved legal subject of the student's choice. Supervision is provided.

? This course is not available to visting students.

? Pre-requisites : Passes in Theories and Philosophies of Legal Research (20 credits), Traditions of Legal Inquiry (20 credits) plus 40 credits from other LLM courses in the School of Law (or, exceptionally, taught masters courses from other Schools in CHSS).

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Competence in advanced legal research, analysis and reasoning. A comprehensive grasp of the relevant literature and an ability to engage in critical analysis at a high level.
