• acquire an understanding of the way linguists approach problems in the description of ancient Hebrew;
• exhibit a detailed understanding of classical Hebrew grammar and syntax; • read extra-biblical Hebrew texts, as well as a selection from cognate languages (e.g. Moabite); and • offer an historical perspective on the development of the Hebrew language before the turn of the Era. - seminar presentation and participation, 20%
