This course provides the student with the required three month pre-registration clinical workplace experience that is required in order to complete the Diploma/Masters degree.

This workplace experience is taken within the workplace environment and is supervised by Honorary University of Edinburgh clinical tutors.

? Pre-requisites : Students must have successfully completed the following courses prior to commencing their Pre-Registration Clinical Workplace Experience: P01796 P01797 P01798 P01799 P01800 P01801 P01802 P01803 P01804 P01805 P01806 P01807

? Co-requisites : Students must be registered on the Masters/Diploma programme in Anaesthesia Practice.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

The learning outcomes for this programme are designed to encompass the knowledge, skills and attitude that practitioners must achieve to become physician's assistants-anaesthesia. After completing the twelve required courses of the programme, the pre-registration clinical workplace experience provides the student with an opportunity to consolidate their theoretical and clinical experience, to clearly understand the roles and professional expectations that will be required of a qualified physicians assistant-anaesthesia and allows for further personal and professional development.

Assessment Information

There is no formal assessment component of this course. Students must gain a satisfactory 'pass' to gain credit for this course.
