Introductory Spanish Language (HS0003)

First semester. Introduction to written and spoken Spanish for students with little or no knowledge of the language. The numbers admitted to the course is 25. Entry Requirements

? This course is not accepting further student enrolments.

? Pre-requisites : No previous knowledge is required.

? Prohibited combinations : No students on programmes owned by DELC will be admitted.

? Special Arrangements for Entry : Priority to enroll will be given as follows:
1. Students from College of Science and Engineering, College of Medecine and Veterinary Medecine, and visiting students.
2. students from College of Humanities and Social Sciences, but from outwith chool of LLC (Literatures, Languages and Cultures).
3. Students from School of LLC, but outwith DELC.

No students on programmes owned by DELC will be admitted to these courses.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Basic knowledge of Spanish in a wide variety of situations with the aim to develop confidence in language learning, understanding and responding to others in appropriate situations.

Assessment Information

Regular written exercises in class and two assesments worth 40%, may be accompanied by computer-based language work and Degree exam at the end of the semester worth 60%.
