* Entry into third year normally requires (i) passes in all subjects taken in the first two years, (ii) a mark of 50% or above in Economics 2 at the first attempt, and (iii) satisfaction of Chinese Honours requirements as specified by the School of Literature, Languages and Cultures.
# If Chinese Literature 3 is taken in year 3, the Economics Honours Disseration and 40 credits of Economics courses must be taken in year 4. If Chinese Special Subject 3 is taken in year 3, this must be followed by Chinese Special Subject 4 and 60 credits of Economics courses in year 4.
† Topics in Economic Analysis 1, Applications of Economic Analysis, and Essentials of Econometrics must be covered either by taking an approved substitute in year 3 or by taking the relevant course(s) in year 4.
