† Entry to Honours normally requires a pass at 50% or above, at the first attempt, in either English Language 2 or passes in second year Linguistics courses, with an average mark across these courses of 50% or above.

‡ These courses must include either Honours Foundation: Phonology and Phonetics or Modern English Phonology 1 and one of Honours Foundation: Syntax and Semantics, Lexical Semantics, English Word-Formation, taken in either year 3 or 4.
