Acronym : LLC-P-P02490 This will continue work with student’s Arabic, focussing on the particular Arabic needed for the students’ selected dissertation topics. Students will therefore continue Arabic language training at an intermediate level via a mix of classes, tutorials and directed independent study, as appropriate to their developing abilities and specific research needs. By the end of this module the student should have acquired a sound knowledge of most features of the grammar and syntax of MSA. The student should be able to translate fairly complex pieces of prose texts into and out of Arabic and to write straightforward narratives and descriptions on a wider range of topics, and to handle social and non-technical business correspondence in Arabic.
Assessment Information
Summative Exams Classwork and two-hour exam (15%); two-hour exam and oral exam (25%); three-hour exam and oral exam (60%).
