Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

1. To introduce students to aspects of workshop safety and the Health and Safety Regulations.
2. To introduce students to the ideas of Quality Control.
3. To give students an appreciation of manufacture.
4. To give students hands-on experience of manufacture.
5. To give students some basic skills in the use of hand tools.
6. To give students an appreciation of Material Properties.
7. To give students the opportunity to apply simple management techniques in practical situations.
8. To develop the application of commercial design packages to practical design problems.
