In terms of learning outcomes, students will, upon successful completion of the course, be able to:
- understand the situated and constitutive nature of knowledge's making, with especial reference to geographical knowledge; - appraise theoretical arguments relating to the spatial nature of science and other forms of knowledge; - articulate through reasoned examples in historical context the geographical bases to geographical understanding of the world; - document in written form a detailed examination of geographical knowledge as a form of intellectual, social and political authority.
