It teaches students how to develop a mathematical model of a control system. It also introduces students classical methods of analysing the behaviour and stability of control systems. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, the students should be able to
1. Understand what is meant by closed loop control; 2. Appreciate methods of system linearisation; 3. Derive mathematical models of physical systems; 4. Represent a system in block diagram form; 5. Analyse a linear system in both the time and frequency domains; 6. Be able to check on the stability of a system; 7.
