Construction Process Modelling 5 (U00428)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : EEL-5-CVCPM This course will introduce and study construction processes (for example earthmoving, concreting) from a fundamental point of view with the aim of improving their efficiency, effectiveness and productivity. The course will also look at advanced construction management techniques and methods, in particular the principles of Lean Production and Lean Construction, and also the principles of concurrent engineering upon which many construction projects are now managed. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module the students should be able to:
- understand basic construction processes such as earthmoving, concreting and paving; - understand the principles of lean engineering and production and, by extension, those of lean construction; - understand how concurrent engineering principles affect the management of modern construction projects; - know how construction process data is captured; and - carry out simple regression analysis and simulation of construction process data. Assessment Information
The assessment will be made on the basis of: Intermittent assessment 30%; Degree examination 70%
