Finance, Cost and Estimating 4 (U00427)

This course, as part of the overall Project Management teaching brings about an understanding of the language and concepts of finance and accountancy and the planning and estimating role of an engineering. In addition, this course will deal with the contractual aspects of project finance management.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module the students should be able to:
- undertake an elementary appraisal of the financial aspects of a construction organisation;
- understand how the various parties involved in an engineering project use estimating and budgeting techniques as financial control tools; and
- understand the contractual aspects between the various parties involved in an engineering project.

Assessment Information

The assessment will be made on the basis of: Intermittent assessment 30%; Degree examination 70%
