Dissertation - MSc by Research in Biological Sciences (P02151)? Credit Points : 180 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : BIO-P-BIO The MSc by Research in Biological Sciences is a 1 year course in any aspect of biological sciences that is consistent with the research programme within the School. Students will carry out a research project under the direction of a Principal Supervisor together with a second supervisor, normally someone from within the University of Edinburgh. Students undertaking such a degree are also expected to take part in the Transkills pProgramme that is available to postgraute students. Entry Requirements? This course is not available to visting students. ? Co-requisites : Normally a good Honours degree in a Biological Science (e.g. Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Pharmacology) but students with degrees in other dicsiplines (e.g. Chemistry, Infomratics) will be considered on a case by case basis. Students completing the course will be capable of undertaking supervised research in some aspect of biological science and in particular should be capable of completing a PhD programme.
Assessment Information
The course is assessed entirely on the basis of a written dissertation.
