Environmental Radioactivity (P01948)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : GEO-P-ENVGER The course comprises a set of 10 formal lectures covering the basics of radioactivity; the origins, distributions and geochemical properties of natural and manmade radionuclides in the environment; the use of radionuclides as tracers of environmental processes; radionuclides as contaminants; the nuclear fuel cycle and radioactive waste disposal. The formal lecture programme is supplemented by a set of 10 one-hour sessions involving lectures, discussion sessions, tutorials, relevant mathematical skills and student presentations. The latter component introduces students to a number of aspects of research in this area of science, including research objectives, funding and outputs. Entry Requirements? This course is not available to visting students. Subject AreasHome subject areaPostgraduate Research Courses (School of GeoSciences), (School of GeoSciences, Schedule N) Delivery Information?
