Geochemistry and Health (P01946)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : GEO-P-ENVGGEOH This course consists of 14 one-hour lectures and 6 one-hour tutorial/discussion/presentation sessions. It focuses upon the interactions between the geochemical environment and the health of humans, wildlife and plants. There is particular emphasis on the influence of biogeochemical speciation upon the sources, uptake, effects, transformations and removal of the chemical elements (eg. aluminium, antimony, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, fluorine, iodine, lead, mercury, phosphorus, selenium and zinc)under a variety of conditions in a range of natural and anthropogenically contaminated environments. Entry Requirements? This course is not available to visting students. Subject AreasHome subject areaPostgraduate Research Courses (School of GeoSciences), (School of GeoSciences, Schedule N) Delivery Information? Normal year taken : Postgraduate ?
