Acronym : MED-P-P00947 The course reviews issues in epidemiological study design, analysis and interpretation including standardisation effect modification, measurement error, regression dilution bias, limitations of routine data, power and sample size, scales and the role of multi-variable analyses in epidemiology, with references to specific study designs (eg migrant studies, twin studies, life course epidemiology) and disease areas (cancer, cardiovascular disease, communicable disease) and the epidemiologic transition. An assignment in the form of a critical appraisal of the design, analysis and interpretation of two epidemiological studies will be used for the assessment.
