At the completion of the course the student should be aware of and understand the principles and application of methods used to select blood and tissues for use in patients, and the use of these methods for clinical diagnosis and the potential adverse effects that may arise in relation to:
-Tissue typing -Platelet & Leucocyte Immunohaematology -Graft-versus-Host reactions and Transfusion-related Acute Lung Injury -The scientific basis of blood groups -The molecular biology underlying monoclonal antibody preparation -The application of monoclonal antibody technology in reagent manufacture -The clinical relevance of blood group antigens and antibodies Assessment Information
