Students carry out original research in an approved laboratory and prepare a scientific report presented in the form of a thesis.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : Satisfactory performance or better in all of the following: Review of Neuroscience, Research Training I, Presenting Neuroscience Research Data, Research Proposal, as per PG Common Marking Scheme.

? Co-requisites : Must attend Neuroscience Graduate Seminars.

? Prohibited combinations : Cannot be completed at the same time as Diploma Dissertation (Neuroscience).

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

To acquire skills in design of experiments and contemporary methods and techniques in neuroscience research; To obtain and analyse quantitative neuroscience data; To write coherent and scholarly scientific reports; To acquire skills in oral presentation of research findings.

Assessment Information

Oral presentation: 30%
Written report (<10,000 words): 70%
