Genome Analysis (P01011)

This course focuses on the principles of genome analysis and the application to data from human, animal and plant populations. It includes modules in: genetic marker technology; linkage analysis, sequencing and microarrays; use of genetic markers in population biology; and gene mapping by association and linkage,including quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis, in a range of population structures. The topics are covered in lectures, tutorials, group discussions of key scientific papers and computer practicals. Students are also expected to attend relevant graduate-level seminars and genetics journal clubs.
