Informatics Research Methodologies (Level 11) (P00908)

The aim of this module is to teach the methodologies of and the skills for conducting research in Informatics.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : For Informatics PG students only, or by special permission of the School. This course is intended for those MSc students intending to do an Informatics-related research degree and for students in their first year of an Informatics-related research degree.

? Prohibited combinations : Informatics Research Methodologies (Level 10)

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

After taking this module, students should be able to:
-Understand and apply various Informatics methodologies.
-Write a grant proposal for an Informatics research project.
-Present a seminar on an area of Informatics research.
-Review Informatics research papers.
-Deploy their transferable skills of reading, writing and design, more effectively.

Assessed Assignments 80%
Oral Presentations 20%
