Culture, Ethics & Environment (P00805)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : GEO-P-ESCEE This course involves becoming familiar with a range of cultures ways of interacting with their environments. It also involves studying the historical development of a particular (now dominant) Western way of managing 'natural resources', and examines and debates contemporary controversies and case studies. By enabling students to engage with fascinating and stimulating cultures, debates and case studies, the course encourages students to develop fresh perspectives on the causes and potential solutions to the problems surrounding human-environmental relations. By the end of the course students will have developed a range of resources (and anthropological/ sociological/ philosophical skills) which will enable them to bring fresh approaches to both the general issues and the particular professional situation they find themselves in.
