Sport Science (Dissertation-based Placement) 4 (ED1026)

? Credit Points : 20  ? SCQF Level : 10  ? Acronym : EDU-4-SpSciPlac

Individual students will be attached to a sports agency which can provide both examples of good professional practice and a suitable setting for a relevant research project. Agencies which are primarily concerned with performance and excellence sport or those more focused on participation and general sports development may be suitable for a student attachment. The nature of the project will be in the form of a negotiated contract between the agency and the student for a "consultancy report" or "problem solution" based on a previously identified "problem" or "issue". The final dissertation will constitute both a useful source of information for the agency and the requirement for academic assessment.
