An introduction to the basic mechanics and science of geotechnical engineering. This course consists of two modules, soil mechanics and geology. Students are required to undertake geological fieldwork and participate in site visits.

? Pre-requisites : Pass in Higher or A-level Mathematics or equivalent

? Costs : Students must be in possession of safety footwear for the laboratory sessions. If not already purchased for other courses in Engineering & Electronics these are available via the Engineering & Electronics Teaching Organisation for approximately £20
