(1) As an alternative, students may take the Mathematics courses prescribed for the Year 1 programme of the Mathematical Physics MPhys.
(2) Students wishing to take Informatics (Schedule O) courses in Year 3 will need to take further Informatics courses here.
(3) As an alternative, students may take the Mathematics and Mathematical Physics courses prescribed for the Year 2 programme of the Mathematical Physics MPhys.
(4) The Programme Guide gives details and constraints on choice of courses, to facilitate advance planning.
(5) Progression to the final years of the MPhys programme requires no less than than 55% overall in Junior Honours and an average of at least 50% in Section B of the core course examinations (Quantum Mechanics, Dynamics & Relativity, Statistical Mechanics, and Electromagnetism; from 2006/7, Quantum Mechanics, Dynamics, Relativity & Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics & Statistical Mechanics). This is in addition to the general progression requirements.
(6) Students who have taken Lagrangian Dynamics or Tensors & Fields or this course in year 3 should instead take an additional course chosen from Schedule Q at level 10/11.
