* Geography courses are allocated through a bidding system. Entry to Geography course of first choice is not therefore guaranteed. A booklet giving details of appropriate course combinations will be given to students to facilitate advance planning.
Social Anthropology Core Courses include Kinship:  Structure and Process; Anthropological Theory; Ritual and Religion; and Consumption, Exchange, Technology (these are usually done in third year); and Belief, Thought, and Language; and Culture and Power (these are usually done in fourth year).
††  If planning to submit a Social Anthropology dissertation.
‡ Entry to third year normally requires successful completion of the first two years of the curriculum with marks of 50% or higher in two Geography second level courses at the first attempt and a mark of 50% or higher in Social Anthropology 2, Social & Political Enquiry 2 and Social & Political Theory 2 at the first attempt.
