Pre-requisites : Quaternary Environmental Change, Aquatic Systems, and Environmental Techniques and application (Oban); and Earth Surface Processes and Applied Environmental Geochemistry (Synoptic Practical Exam) ? The Oban trip is designed to provide hands-on experience with water and sediment sampling methods, and bathymetric and hydrographic survey techniques commonly used in coastal oceanography. Water and sediment sample are subsequently analysed for a variety of parameters and, together with bathymetric and hydrographic data, are used to provide insights on the physical and biogeochemical processes occurring in Loch Etive.

Oban report (36%), Synoptic practical examination (64%). The synoptic exam has 2 papers, each 2 hours long.
