20th Century Latin American Women's Writing (Ordinary) (U03370)

This course aims to give the student knowledge of a representative sample of twentieth-century women's writing from Latin America, based mainly around the novel but also incorporating some poetry and short stories. In limiting the course material by gender, the focus will be on giving the student insight into, and understanding of, key cultural and theoretical issues regarding the woman writer, such as ghettoisation and l'ecriture feminine.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of these courses students will be expected to show the ability:
