The text will be studied and analysed in detail and interpreted in its philosophical, literary and historical context. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, students will:
- have read a book of ancient philosophy in Greek; - have a thorough knowledge of the content of the book; - have a good knowledge of the language and style of Plato; - have an understanding of the conventions of a Platonic dialogue; - have some knowledge of how to analyse a Platonic argument Transferable skills: - written communication skills - analytical skills - ability to deal independently with a complex body of information. Continuous Assessment accounts for 30% of the total assessment; and
