By the end of the course students should have:
gained an appreciation of the main chronological and thematic issues in modern Scottish History
developed their ability to engage critically with secondary sources
developed their ability to engage critically with printed priimary sources
developed their ability to produce coherent analytical text in essays and exam conditions
understood the importance of working in a tutorial group, including the importance of regular attendance, preparation and contribution.

2 essays (2500 words each) and one essay/source analysis worth 50% of final mark. Exam worth 50%.
