Project Planning for Ecological Science (U01828)

This module will be based on the generic structure of a management plan i.e. resource assessment, the statement of objectives and constraints, the scheduling of operations and regular monitoring of progress. An economic component will include budgets, resource valuation and financial appraisal as an aid to decision-making. Different management objectives will accommodate the range of student interest and there will be opportunity to develop data handling and practical skills in case studies located near Edinburgh.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will learn how to produce a management plan for specific objectives in the context of specific bio-physical and socio-economic resources and constraints.

There will be one major intermittent assessment consisting of a management plan
