A basic course in medical microbiology. Mechanisms and processes of bacterial and viral pathogenicity; the immune response; microbial transmission and epidemiology; host-parasite interaction; uses of and resistance to antimicrobial agents; immunisation and public health.

? Pre-requisites : The Dynamic Cell 2, Genes and Gene Action 2, Microorganisms, Cells and Immunity 2, Molecular Microbiology 3 and Immunology 3 are recommended.
