By the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- undertake topographical surveys using theodolites or total stations; - assess the accuracy of levelling and traverse surveys; - adjust traverse closure errors; - produce a scale plan of an area; - set out earthworks, foundations and curves from given data; and - measure river discharge using flow velocity observations.
