Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

To explore the factors controlling the macroscale characteristics of landscapes.

To explore the inter-relationships between surface and internal processes and the way these give rise to particular landforms and modes of landscape evolution.

To explore the interface between macrogeomorphology and allied earth science disciplines.

To introduce students to an interdisciplinary research field.

To enable students to seek out and comprehend the essential relevant findings from literature in unfamiliar fields.

To develop analytical and presentational skills.

To develop and improve skills in giving oral and visual presentations, and in writing critical essays.

Assessment Information

Class assessment: As specified in course handbook

Degree assessment: One two-hour examination (2 questions) AND One 2,000 word essay
