Scotland and Ireland, 1800-1922 (SH0007)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 10 ? Acronym : HCL-3-SCIRE This course aims to examine the History of Scotland and Ireland in the period from 1800 to 1939 in both a comparative and an interactive sense. The main themes of the course will be: the comparative social and economic development of Scotland and Ireland; emigration and the growth of an Irish community in Scotland; the growth of nationalism and the relationship between Scotland, Ireland and "Britain"; It is not intended that the course should provide a comprehensive survey of Scottish and Irish history in the nineteenth century. Entry Requirements? Pre-requisites : A pass in any first level historical course and any second level historical course or equivalent.
