? Pre-requisites : First degree or equivalent professional qualification. Recent appropriate professional experience in primary dental care. At least 3 years post-graduation experience. Registration with the General Dental Council in the United Kingdom.

? Co-requisites : Current clinical practice in dental primary care.

? Special Arrangements for Entry : Specific support will be arranged for students with specific disabilities as already arranged for the other master degrees at the Edinburgh Postgraduate Dental Institute.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Participants should be able to:
Know the advantages and disadvantages of the different techniques available for the aesthetic restoration of teeth.
Know the principles and methods for colour matching of teeth and restorations and methods for communicating this information to a Dental Technician.
Be familiar with the clinical techniques necessary to produce aesthetic dental restorations.
Understand the aesthetic and mechanical limitations of short teeth and to know the application of relative axial tooth movement in their management.

To provide records of:
An example of treatment where a direct resin veneer has been provided for a patient and a brief critical reflection on the care delivered. (200 words) (20%)
Two examples of a directly placed Class II composite restoration and a brief critical reflection on the care delivered for each patient (200 words for each) (40%)
Two prescriptions for colour and form of an indirect restoration(s) as sent to the laboratory and a brief critical reflection on the care delivered for each patient (200 words for each) (40%)
