Neuromorphic VLSI (P02014)

This course is exclusively designed to teach neuro-engineering to students in the 1+3 year Msc/PhD Doctoral Training Centre programme in Neuroinformatics. It specifically covers neuromorphic VLSI principles, and design and implementation of an simple neuron model.

? This course is not available to visting students.

? Pre-requisites : None. This course is only open to students on the MSc by Research in Neuroinformatics

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

After the course the students will be able to:
- describe and discuss the principles behind neuromorphic VLSI design and discuss potential applications and limitations
- develop neuromorphic VLSI circuitry from the specification stage and design stage to the implementation stage
- implement and test a VLSI system
- discuss design considerations in the various stages of the process.
