Acronym : MED-P-P01441 To provide an understanding of the science, relevant diagnostic assays and clinical application of tissue and solid organ transplantation, and related aspects of donor selection. Additional Class Information : The course will be delivered as a series of lectures combined with tutorials, spot tests and assessment exercise as a one-week residential course in Edinburgh. -The physiology and pathophysiology of liver, kidney, pancreatic, bone and stem cell/marrow transplantation -The methods used to collect tissues and organs suitable for these uses -The methods used to process and assure quality of such donations -The clinical uses of tissues and organ transplantation -The relevant legislation underpinning the above Assessment Information
