Programming for e-Science (P01345)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : PHY-P-PES This course provides an introduction to the course programming language and allows the student to develop the expertise that is required to undertake the programming specific portions of the MSc programme. The course starts with an introduction to the basic rudiments of the language such as data types, conditional statements, loops and input/output. This is followed by a short introduction to examples of classes and objects. The remainder of the course covers aspects of the language and classes specific to programming e-Science applications, such as the access and manipulation of data from files and databases, and the presentation of the results of computations.
