Performance Scaling on Modern HPC Architectures (P01294)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : PHY-P-P01294 This course will cover the detailed architecture of current HPC systems, and discuss the challenges faced in obtaining good performance on large numbers of processors. The use of performance analysis tools will be covered, and practical techniques for performance optimisation will be introduced. Practical sessions willgive students both experience of using the tools, and of applying optimisation techniques. Entry Requirements? This course is not available to visting students. ? Pre-requisites : Only postgraduates or final year MPhys students with suitable computational background, subject to space restrictions and agreement with relevant Programme Coordinator.
