GIS and Health (P01238)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : GEO-P-GISSGISH Health inequalities are defined as disparities between health experience, outcomes and health care that exist between various groups of society. Initiatives to tackle and reduce such inequalities place considerable emphasis on the assimilation and analysis of diverse data sets, the majority of which will have a spatial component. The spatial nature of these datasets places them within the specific domain of GIS and as such, for the purposes of both visualisation and analysis, GIS is recognised as a powerful medium throughout the health sector.
